Villa Kalos | Ithaca

I first saw this beautiful renovation of an old Greek house - transformed into a guest house - on Est Magazine. I was impressed by the elegant contrast between different materials and surfaces but mostly by how plaster and concrete are treated to meet stone and wood. The upper photo is my preferred.

Robbert Koene- Born in Holland, lived half his life in Cape Town and loves renovating, cooking and traveling. Decor, Food and Lifestyle photographer by profession, mountain bike champion in his dreams... Will earn his first Michelin Star when his restaurant in Greece opens. That is after he takes his Landrover from Cape Town to Amsterdam overland. Wants a Nespresso machine in his kitchen unit. Gerda Genis - Born in South Africa, loves to dance and is one of South Africa's foremost fashion photographers. Dreams of setting up a yoga retreat in Ithaka, Greece where we have renovated an old ruine. Wants an electric blanket in the roof top tent. (from Robbert and Gerda's blog)
