Last weekend, I visited the Abbazia of Sant'Antimo, near Montalcino (Siena). Everytime I go there, I'm awed by the natural light that plays inside through the 12th century windows and by the beauty of the naked interiors. As architect, I'll always have a lot to learn from masters of past centuries.

Light in Sant'Antimo | WeekEnd in Tuscany

The Iris in the Chiantishire
If you visit the Florentine part of Chiantishire (around San Polo in Chianti) in May, you will be surrounded by thousands of irises (iris pallida or “giaggiolo” in Florentine dialect) blossoming between olive trees and vineyards.

Lari - Tuscany
After Lorenzana, we stopped in the village of Lari, wonderful! There's a lot to visit, it is very ancient, before X sec. Don't miss the castle, the market arcade, the churches, the gates, the walls and the Martelli laboratory - family made pasta! We had also a nice time sitting down and drinking a spritz at La Bottega della Specialità, via Diaz (near the castle).
