Giuliadreambox | Handmade paper theatres

Alice is waiting for Santa - by Giulia Adriana Leone

Giulia Adriana Leone has a lifelong long love for drawing and painting. After moving to Florence, she has cultivated her passion and knowledge of renaissance art. She has found a way to express this passion, in little worlds that tell a story in scenes and images in her wonderful dreambox; "vivid cinematic glimpses which look at sense and sensibility to tiny theatrical scenes of plays that will capture and enchant in amazement, the spectator. Evoking the same spellbinding enchanted charm we felt as children once upon a time.

Creating a dreambox is a laborious and long process, this inspiration stems from dioramas of old theatre cards and pop-up books. To create a dreambox from start to finish, takes between two to three weeks. The most challenging stage that takes the most time is research, study and

Onefortythree | handmade design

"Onefortythree started out as a blog about a house my wife and I are finishing - in southern Nevada -(our address number is "143"). Once we moved in, we needed furniture and lighting. So, I started making my own. I then began making things for my friends and family and have since started selling my pieces online. Everything you see here is designed and made, one at a time, by me.

Made a Mano - DK

Kaluri lavastone boards

The company Made a Mano was founded in 2001 and based in Copenhagen.
The ambitions of the owners (Rosario Parrinello, NanaKi Bonfils and Josephine Akvama) were :
1 - to create a collection of tiles, countertops and sinks, combining ancient traditional handicraft with modern techniques;
2 - revealing a sure sense of beauty and style.
Made a Mano's  working techniques are free hand drawing - it involves drawing the decoration by hand using a pencil and then applying the colours by brush - and handprinting - a technique that uses shapes of designs pressed onto the object while colours are applied to the object by brush.

Salviati - Venetian glass - with Jean-Michel Othoniel for Dior

Making the bottle in Murano, Italy

Jean-Michel Othoniel - the famous French sculptor -  was commissioned by LVMH group to create the new limited-edition bottle for Dior’s perfume, J’Adore for this holiday season.
Othoniel's design start from the original bottle, releasing the necklace. Each bottle is a handblown glass made by masters of Salviati - one of the historical glass factories on the island of Murano - Venice. The glass-bead top is embedded with specks of gold leaf and represents the universe. Only 300 pieces will be produced worldwide and each unique bottle has a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Le Friulane, Italian handcrafted slippers

The friulane (or furlane) are handcrafted slippers taken from the ancient tradition of Friuli and later used from the gondoliers in Venice because their rubber sole was perfect to respect the paint of the gondolas.
They were originally created recycling old bicycle tires to make the sole, canvas jute bags (used for the transport of seeds and grains) to make the pads, and old clothes to make the uppers.
The traditional jewel-bright velvet slippers appear now as luxurious shoes, they are updated in many forms and still handcraftedly produced by artisans in northeast of Italy.
I bought mines at Mr Gianni Dittura's cobbler shop opened from 1948 in Venice San Marco 819–820, or Dorsoduro 871. Telephone: (+39) 041 5231163. I wear them at home but also outside in the summer, I love them!
