Frojo shopwindos by Miss Julia

Julia has started working to paper furniture with Éric Guiomar, in Paris, in 1995. In 2002, she opened the atelier of rue jean de bernardy in Marseille. Between her creations, I was paricularly impressed by these paper and paillets sets for Frojo Jewellery  in Val d'Isère.

Franco Sargiani and Eija Helander : Programma 8 - Alessi

'The Seventies: Franco Sargiani and Eija Helander designed “Programma 8” for Alessi. This systematic and comprehensive project of small modular and stackable household items was based on the very same methodological premise of the “international-style” architecture of the period: the theory of open-system meta-design ideal for the free composition of unlimited living and formal models.' Defined by Alessandro Mendini as “the most evolved system of household objects ever created on an international level”, this design concept has, thirty years later, been taken up again and completed. Again, the stainless-steel tray is the first and most basic unit, and ceramic containers, oil and vinegar cruets, salt and pepper castors, serving utensils and a wooden chopping board are developed around it.

Origami paper light + laser cut paper vases

Paper lights (in 7 colours)

Paper lights (in 7 colours)
As seen on cachette, paper lights and paper vases are two joyful products to give a touch of color (and energy) to your interiors!
Paper lights are made in Holland in 7 colours.  'Inspired by Japanese origami, this light is folded from 1 piece of "butterfly paper" and is supplied with a cable (covered in textile) and a porcelain bulb socket, suitable for an E27 bulb (eco-friendly or small wattage only).'  Dimensions: 18cm high and 28cm diameter, for €89,00.

The set of 3 small decorative paper vases comes from Japan and are available in different colours. Starting from a thin and light laser cut slice of paper you simply have to unfold it with your hand and give it the shape you wish. Beautiful on their own, or place a second vase within. The white vases are also fun when partly painted by yourself. The coloured versions are reversible with two colour tones on the same vase so you can choose. The base of the vase is 8cm and the height is over 20cm, the set is sold for €21,00 .

Cachette is the fine design selection of Stephen and Delphine, an Anglo-French couple who, after spending 10 years living and working in London, changed everything and moved to the South of France to start a new life and a new business.

Tapestry of the XIX century
Italian interior decorator Michela Curetti has restored the two upper levels of an ancient building in Mondovì (north of Italy) where she lives with her husband. Michela has opened spaces and windows creating a loft and getting beautiful views over the city (and lot of light); more, she conserved original materials like part of the tapestry of the XIX cent. or the roof wood re-used for flooring. I do love the black stencil on the parquet in the bathroom, the ancient tapestry - so charmant - and the outdoor space where the couple let every seed casually arrived grow, it's a really km0:-)

Hermès shopwindows by Kiki van Eijk

photo: Frank Tielemans
Hermès gave "carte blanche" to Kiki to realize 5 exceptional windows at the
Bijenkorf Amsterdam, from 2nd -25th March . Kiki designed all 5 windows within the concept “the gift of time”, which is the 2012 theme of Hermès.
“Time is even more precious now than before. It’s the biggest jewel you can have.
Why not juggle with time? And show the different aspects of it! It’s just how you look at it and it’s all about your perception of time. In those 5 windows I’m showing 5 different ways of how you could look at time. In a very playful way, inspired on the philosophy and history of Hermès. It really shows the joy of a child playing with a lot of fantasy, like Alice in wonderland.”

Bitossi Diffusione is an affiliation of the group, Gruppo Colorobbia which operates in the household items sector.
