E15's 15th Birthday

At the beginning there was a table...15 years of e15.

The German company e15 was co-founded in 1995 in London by architect Philipp Mainzer. e15 quickly developed into an internationally recognised brand with a distinct range of furniture. Today e15 has its headquarters in Germany near Frankfurt and is run by shareholders Philipp Mainzer and Peter Wesner.

The Pot Hole Gardener

Photo 'The Pot Hole Gardener'

What about planting little gardens in our town potholes? This was the idea of the art student Steve Wheen,  who everyday makes the London citizens smile with his chefs-d'oeuvre. You can follow his work on his site.

Wood
'This chair takes up very little space when unassembled. By saving 80 to 90 per cent of an ordinary chair’s transport volume, Wood also spares the environment from large amounts of carbon dioxide, packaging materials and storage space. Wood’s components are bent with a traditional steaming technique that uses a minimal amount of wood. The wood used is local red beech with from sustainably managed forests. The chair is constructed to last for many years – another benefit to the environment. Concept and form: Åke Axelsson.'

In 2004 Montana took up the production again and has developed new models based on the original design. At Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2010 Montana presented two new models of Verner Panton’s popular Tivoli chair – a kitchen bar chair and a junior chair for kids:-)
