Studio You Me worked on the renovation of a 70’s brick house in Brighton, Australia.
The project started from the original architectural elements - such as high-pitched ceilings and stream-lined joinery - enhancing them while creating a young contemporary interior.
The timber joinery throughout the residence was crafted from select grade American Oak veneer – custom black stain and 3mm expressed shadow-line detail creates the narrative of the residence. In some rooms it sits luxuriously against the plush handmade carpet or in the family room floats elegantly on the Danish white timber floor-boards - giving a warm and cohesive design palette to the residence.
I was expecially catched by the details photographed by Jonathan Vdk.
You can have a further look to the house here.
The studio is built around an ethical philosophy that eschews the mass-produced for the custom crafted while prioritising and meeting the commercial realities of each project.
