Bolon launches new studio tile WING

Bolon Wing

During 2013, Bolon launched Wing - a flooring tile produced from roll material that with its shape may be combined with several of the Bolon’s collections reenergising them and adding a nice variation.
Wing is part of Bolon Studio and was created expecially to facilitates new dimensions for interior design environments.

Throughout 2013, Bolon is celebrating the ten-years anniversary of the third generation owners, Marie and Annica Eklund.
Bolon is a third generation family business. The company’s history starts in Stockholm in 1949, when Nils-Erik Eklund had the brilliant idea of using textile waste from the neighbouring factory to manufacture woven rag rugs. The company’s name is a combination of the first and last letters of the Swedish words BOmull (cotton) and nyLON. In the 1960s the enterprise - handed down to Lars and Monica Eklund - continued developing the rag rug concept and created a completely new business niche – awning mats for caravans.
The third generation of the family, the sister Marie and Annica, took over the enterprise in 2003 and embarked on the journey that would shape Bolon for the future.

Today, Bolon is a design-led business which produce unique woven floors for creative and inspiring environments.
All of their floors are designed and manufactured from their factory in Ulricehamn, Sweden
The production is energy efficient, careful to recycling and to assume responsibility throughout the product cycle.
