Spool Birds Mobile

Spool is the crafting adventure of Laura Singewald and Craig Rosenfeld from Philadelphia. Their love of fabric and sewing,  translates into the use of bright cotton fabrics for blankets, quilts, skirts, aprons, tote bags, kids clothes. They kindly offer their blog visitor a nice project: the birds mobile. You can check images on their blog and download freely the pdf patron.

Spool è l'avventura tessile di Laura Singewald e Craig Rosenfeld da Philadelphia. Il loro amore per i tessuti e per il cucito,  si traduce nell'uso di cotoni per  quilt, vestiti per bambini, accessori ed altro. Rewrite, Gam - Fratesi for LigneRoset

 
The Rewrite desk by duo designers GamFratesi is produced by French brand Ligne Roset.
The desk has a cocoon shield to create a private working environment, perfect for preserving both concentration and intimacy. This fiberglass cocoon is covered in a sound-absorbing woollen material, it affords protection from both light and external noises and also dampens sounds emanating from within it. The desk is made of walnut.
The functional aspect is covered by a lacquered metal chest, fixed beneath the desk, which conceals transformers and electrical cables, and by a slit cable port in the top of the desk.

Rewrite has already been displayed at the Danish Museum of Art and Design, Copenhagen. GamFratesi is a design agency which was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi.

La scrivania Rewrite del duo di designers GamFratesi è nel catalogo della marca francese Ligne Roset.
La scrivania è sormontata da un guscio protettivo che crea una ambiente di lavoro intimo che favorisce la concentrazione. Il guscio in fibra di vetro è coperto in materiale di lana fonoassorbente, protegge sia dalla luce che dai rumori esterni oltre a smorzare i suoni provenienti dall'interno. La scrivania è realizzata in legno di noce.
L'aspetto funzionale è soddisfatto da un vano in metallo laccato, fissato dietro la scrivania, che ospita trasformatori e cavi elettrici, e da una serie di 'uscite' sulla parte superiore della stessa scrivania.

Rewrite è stato esposto al Danish Museum of Art and Design di Copenhagen. GamFratesi è uno studio di design fondato a Copenhagen nel 2006 dalla danese Stine Gam e l'italiano Enrico Fratesi.

ColourWare, Bergne + Smallhorn

The 'plate tower' named Colourware is a project by designer Sebastian Bergne and colour artist Sophie Smallhorn. The stacking plates are made in various sizes and materials including corian, wood, bronze. When you don't use them, you can compose them in an unique coloured tower, like a totem, to happily decorate your dinner room.

La 'colonna di piatti', chiamata Colourware, è un progetto del designer Sebastian Bergne e dell'artista dei colori Sophie Smallhorn. I piatti impilabili sono in varie misure e materiali tra i quali corian,  legno bronzo. Quando non usati, possono essere sovrapposti a formare un'unica colonna, simile ad un totem, da lasciare molto volentieri a vista.

Near to origami, the kirigami is the art of cutting paper. In this French website you can see some examples of the monuments of Paris realized with this art and maybe buy a postcard with the Eiffel Tower for 5,00 euros .

Hygge moments

I saw this beautiful box of Italian biscuits (amaretti) in the supermarket for 7,00 euro and I couldn't stop my shophaolic side from putting it in the basket. Today there's a grey sky, I was working at my table when I took a pause tasting an amaretto - delicious - and looking out at my cyclamen thinking how beautiful was the moment.

Ho adocchiato questa bellissima scatola in latta di amaretti  al supermercato, in offerta a 7,00 euro, e non ho saputo resistere dall'infilarla nel carrello. Oggi è una di quelle giornate con il cielo grigio, stavo lavorando alla scrivania quando mi sono presa una pausa per gustarmi un amaretto - delizioso - guardando i ciclamini dalla finestra mentre pensavo a quanto fosse bello quel momento.

It is really cold in Florence these days. I liked the icecream in the Luis Vuitton shopwindow and the white dressed olive plant in front of Ferragamo museum in via Tornabuoni.

In questi giorni a Firenze fa davvero freddo. Mi sono piaciuti: il grande cono di gelato nella vetrina di Luis Vuitton e gli ulivi vestiti di leggera rete bianca davanti al museo Ferragamo in via Tornabuoni.

A cake for me

It is my birthday today, and I got this wonderful cake from my husband. I feel lucky so I want to share it with you. It is chocolate and rhum with a marzipan rose and a sugar abstract art composition;-)

Oggi è il mio compleanno e ho ricevuto da mio marito questa torta meravigliosa. Mi sento fortunata e voglio dividerla almeno virtualmente con voi. E' fatta di cioccolata (si vede) e rum con una rosa bianca in marzapane e una composizione astratta di zucchero ;-)

My Christmas 2011 window

I've just completed to decorate the window of my studio. This year I made a tree branch in two pieces: I sketched the form on cardboard, I cutted it and covered it with the most poetic page of newspaper I found. Then I hanged my silver decorations (you can easily make them yourself).

Ho appena finito di addobbare la finestra dello studio. Quest'anno ho costruito un ramo in due pezzi: prima ho disegnato la forma su un cartone di scarto, l'ho ritagliata e rivestita con una pagina di giornale - la più poetica che ho trovato. Poi ho appeso i decori a specchio e argento (se non li avete potete fare anche questi da soli con cartone e carta stagnola).
