WorldFlexHome - Danish sustainable housing in Shanghai
Danish worldFLEXhome develops, manufactures and sells "green" homes at 0-energy. The architect-designed homes have a modern design and are based on modular constructions. The first prototype will be used for a sustainable housing in the Chinese city Wuxi (East of Shanghai), where the Danish test house will be placed in a large development-project with a total of 45,000 m2.
The homes will be the first prefabricated housing system, that meets the class 1- demands in the international environment-building-standard, Active House and fulfils the Danish 2020-requirements which implies co-opting energy consumption through integrated solar cells.
The project started 2 years ago at the Danish Institute of Technology Projektet Institut, lead by center Director Anders Thomsen, and was developed in collaboration with more than 20 Danish partners – like Velux, Isover, Junckers, Cembrit, HTH og Jeldwen.
”We have solved the modular capability by using a module of steel as basic structural element (equivalent to a 20 or 40 feet container), because of the stability and flexibility in this wellknown construction. The building system can be used for construction of detached and semidetached dwelling, townhouses, rowhouses and not least storey housing”, says architect and partner Mads Møller from Arcgency.
”The chinese municipality in Wuxi has provided 2 exhibition sites for our disposal for five years, that will be our commercial take-off both in Wuxi, and also other places in China”, tells Anders Bach-Sørensen, who is shareholder, together with Jan Sørensen, in worldFLEXhome.

Edra's Sofas
Edra was founded in 1987 in Tuscany - Italy - and derives its name from the Greek word ‘exedra’, meaning a meeting place for philosophical discussion. Manual intervention is part of the process for every Edra product, which means
one-of-a-kind results combined with serial production. Edra pieces are ‘finished
by hand’ because artisanal know-how and attention to detail are what ensure the
highest possible quality.
In the photos, some of my fav sofas by Edra:

Evil Robot Designs - Bespoke Lamps
Bespoke Lamps - by Evil Robot Designs - are made assembling toys to create stunning and stilish lamps with a striking high gloss finish. The lamps - each one dedicated to a theme - were presented in the 2012 Clerkenwell Design Week.
Evil Robot Designs was created by UK-based artists EViL ED and Dan Robotic, "whose aim is to blur the lines between geek and cool. Taking elements from film, comic art and popular culture they endeavour to bring these secret loves into the modern home.
The business started out in 2011 after the duo were thrown in at the deep end when one of their toy lamps made from Hot Wheels cars was auctioned for charity by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen. Elle Decoration then asked them to feature in an article on artists who upcycle. Evil Robot Designs flourished and orders flooded in from as far afield as New York and Beijing.
They now produce a wide variety of different products, from solid walnut comic-inspired coffee tables to B-movie wallpaper. All their work is designed in house and where possible all materials are sourced locally to create a truly British brand to be proud of." The design duo can also create personalised pieces on demand.

| Equis House by S. Barclay - J. P. Crousse |
Equis House is a seasonal residence in Cañete (Peru) projected by Architects S. Barclay - J. P. Crousse in 2003.
"The project seeks to create the necessary intimacy to live in the desert and to 'domesticate' it without denying or betraying its characteristics. We started by conceiving a pure solid which would appear to have always been there. During the design process, we "excavated" this theoretical solid, removing matter bit-by-bit, just as archaeologists would remove sand to discover the pre-Columbian ruins in this region. The resulting exterior spaces merge with interior spaces in a continuous fluid space within an enclosure that pushes the ambiguity between interior and exterior spaces to its limits."

| La Purificadora by Ricardo and Victor Legorreta |
La Purificadora, by renowned Mexican architect Ricardo and Victor Legorreta, located in the historic centre of Puebla, is the new incarnation of a late 19th-century factory long used to purify water for the production of ice.
The building’s tradition of purity is still the guiding leitmotif at the simple and minimalist yet modern and edgy style.

Autumn Shopping
It's raining and temperatures are 27° during the day, I'm happy. I'm a winter type so every year in Italy, I welcome autumn! And now I can really begin to think to autumn, everything starts again and I can finally make my cakes in the freetime (it's to hot here to warm the kitchen in summer). Last weekend, I went shopping and these are my finds: H&M origami swan necklace and faux leather olive bag (I personalized it with a DKR) + grey sneakers (soldes). I ended up with some shimmering clotheshangers from ZaraHome. Everyone needs a little sparkle. I'm satisfied.
