Moleskine + Ventura Lambrate | Milan Design Week 2015

Moleskine joins forces with Ventura Lambrate to set up a Documentation Centre for design innovation at Milan Design Week.
Roaming the post-industrial warehouses and bustling streets of Ventura-Lambrate - with the Moleskine smart notebook, Creative Cloud connected in hand - a team of design reporters sketch the ideas they find in the objects, installations, crowds and showrooms of the innovative design district during Milan Design Week.
Little page markers in the corners of each page are recognized by a companion app, which optimizes and digitizes the hand-drawn images with a simple capture. The design reporters then upload their sketches to the Creative Cloud as fully workable vector files, which are finally elaborated by a designer live from the Documentation Centre at Via Ventura 14. Projected onto a screen is this part of the creative process, with original sketches and printed works exhibited alongside, completing the circle of creativity.

Crowdy House + Ventura Lambrate | Milan Design Week 2015

The Milan Design Week is about to start and I'm packing my things getting ready to head to Milan. I'll tell you about it as soon as I can (stay tuned on Instagram, too - from tomorrow).
In the meantime, if you want to see some of the latest developments at the forefront of contemporary design check the Ventura Lambrate 2015 shop created by the partnership with CROWDY HOUSE "the premiere (launch) pre-tail platform" for over 500 curated designers and makers from 30+ countries selling directly to consumers worldwide. (High profile names selling on the platform include Matali Crasset and Paolo Ulian)

During the Milan Design Week 2015, a partnership with Ventura Lambrate enables the exhibitors to sell directly through CROWDY HOUSE. They have partnered with Ventura Lambrate to provide the first exclusive online shop and offline retail point during the event. Additionally CROWDY HOUSE will represent their designers and will everyday give live demonstrations of designers producing their designs at the exhibition in Ventura Lambrate.

Exhibitors that are included in the selection are rENs, Transnatural Label & Lab, Philipp von Hase, and many more. Atelier GertJan, Daniël de Bruin and Leonie & Lois will demonstrate their making processes to the visitors. The latter will showcase a mobile factory that makes new products out of waste jeans fabric.

Mairead Murphy Illustration

Mairead Murphy is a Melbourne-based illustrator and designer.

Coming from a background in Interior Architecture, she successfully run Maike Design Studio, she has just always really loved to draw (even her design sketchbook margins are filled with little characters) prompting her to establish Mairead Murphy Illustration.  

Developing and producing images or characters with their own personality is something that she always finds surprising and exciting - like meeting someone for the first time.  Mairead's style uses the elasticity and softness of detailed pencil work to capture personality and movement in her characters, while digital elements bring colour and texture.
